EXIT PAPER

All ASCJ graduate students are expected to complete an Exit Paper in the last semester of tenure at the ASCJ.

This paper is an analysis of your training and hands-on experience during your tenure at the Seminary and will include, but not be limited to, the following components:

1. An essay on your future role in any given synagogue setting, based on your training and synagogue experiences during your time at the Seminary.

2. An essay on your new-found understanding of the roles for each new graduate of the Seminary, with regard to the future of the American Jewish Community, and your direct influence and involvement in it.

3. An essay both looking back and looking ahead now that you have completed your first steps in becoming and developing into a Jewish professional in the American Jewish Community. (Where you were, where you are, where you want to be in the coming years.)

4. A complete time line of your interning/observational experiences from your first to your last, including: dates, locations, mentoring professional(s), and responsibilities and skills acquired.

The paper is required to be submitted for review 1 week prior to the last week of classes and should be no more than 10 pages in length, structured according to the requirements given above, or those determined by the Deans of the individual schools of the Seminary.

If you have any questions or are experiencing any difficulty with any of the Exit Paper components, please do not hesitate to contact the Seminary office at (877)223-0375.
